I took my new telemark skis out for a shakedown today in preparation for an upcoming trip to the Tetons. I spent the morning in Weber County North Fork Park testing out my new skis and skins. After a few hours there, I shed the skins and spent the rest of the afternoon at Wolf Mountain Ski Area trying to get used to telemark turns – with marginal success. Fortunately the Black Diamond O1 bindings I bought are outstanding bindings and they compensated for my lack of experience.
On the way to North Fork I took this picture from North Ogden divide. The valley was shrouded with clouds and the sun was reflecting off of the ice crystals in the air.
Below is the location I stopped to take the photo. The image was captured at the blue marker looking Southeast towards Pineview Resevoir.
