At least once a year I like to take each of my daughters on a road trip of their choosing. The Unspoken rule is that the road trip include camping, outdoor activities and opportunities for photography. A couple of years ago, Angela asked to go to Moab, Utah. We went in April, which should have been beautiful weather. But it ended up being extremely cold, and the wind blew so hard and so constant that each morning we awoke covered by a film of dust and sand that blew in overnight between the tent and the rain fly.
This year, Angela wanted to see Mesa Verde National Park. Because of the unfortunate Moab trip, I’d thought we could have a partial do-over, and we stopped in Moab and Arches on the way. It turned out to be an awesome exploration of the Four Corners area. In five days we hit Arches National Park, Newspaper Rock State Historic Site, Mesa Verde National Park, Four Corners Monument, and Hovenweep National Monument. Â Most of our time, however, was spent exploring Mesa Verde.
The trip was also the maiden voyage of my new GoPro Hero 3. Among other things the time lapse sequences from the dashboard of my vehicle and at Delicate Arch were taken with it.
